Necessity is the mother of invention. And so it was for visionary designer Willi Bruckbauer.
A growing dissatisfaction in the existing options drove him to realise innovative invention was the only solution.
He was focusing on kitchens – the expert blend of functionality and form which leads to outstanding design – and this time it was specifically the issue of eliminating cooking vapours.
Extractor hoods were typically loud, ineffective and visually intrusive, restricting the possibilities of amazing design and not functionally fit. His drive for perfection meant it had become absolutely necessary to invent something completely new, something groundbreaking.
Embracing the challenge in 2006, Willi Bruckbauer developed and patented his first cooktop extractor system, the BORA Professional. At last - something quiet, clean, sleek, effective and which offered versatility in design and function.
Today, the company has gone from strength to strength and is really turning heads on the international market. Following continual redevelopment by the BORA team, it outstrips any competition and has won several prestigious awards.
And BORA is continuing to push the boundaries of innovation and design. This spring sees the launch of the BORA classic 2.0 range, winner of the 2019 ICONIC AWARDS.
So what exactly is the BORA cooktop extraction system and how does it work?
In a range of sizes and functional options, it creates an area of low pressure which draws in air from the surrounding hob. Steam and vapours rise at a maximum of 1 metre per second, so the BORA cooktop extracts with cross flow suction that is faster, thus eliminating them. Streamlined and subtle – it eliminates the need for any unsightly overhead extractor allowing overall design versatility in a kitchen. Its low-noise motors are softened further by sound absorbers and its extraction efficacy means 100 per cent clean air at head height. And it’s extremely easy to clean.
It’s transformed the cooking experience and brought serenity to even the busiest heart of the home.
