Roots and Bloom Spring FloralWorkshop

Earlier this spring, we had the pleasure of hosting a creative Spring Floral Workshop led by Gina, the talented florist and founder of Roots & Bloom Sheffield.

When planning the event with us Gina said, “Early spring flowers are some of the
most beautiful to arrange with,” and she certainly did not disappoint!

Guests were provided with a beautiful selection of blooms including ranunculus,
clove-scented stocks, Sweet William, snapdragons and airy Saponaria, all grown on
the Roots & Bloom flower farm in Sheffield.

Throughout the evening, Gina guided guests through how to create the perfect
arrangement using a technique called “spiralling” (also known as a spiral hand-tied
bouquet) where the stems are carefully positioned to give a professional spiral finish.

While channelling their inner florist, guests enjoyed a glass of fizz selected by
Starmore Boss and a variety of delicious desserts provided by Hat Desserts on
Ecclesall Road. The whole showroom was filled with the scent of fresh flowers and
sweet desserts – the perfect pairing for a spring evening.

Everyone finished the workshop with a beautiful bouquet that was theirs to take
home and as Gina said, “One of my favourite things about teaching bouquet making
is seeing how each person’s personality is reflected in their finished arrangement.
Starting with the same flowers, each person created something wildly different and
truly ‘them’!”
