An impressive handmade shaker-style kitchen that is the social hub of the home

An impressive handmade shaker-style kitchen produced for our discerning client in Sheffield. Every last detail has been meticulously thought through alongside their architect Peak Architects to create an incredible living space that meets their needs in every way.

The brief was to inject light and to create a social hub that brings all the elements of this beautiful home together, the dining, the social space and the views of the front and back gardens.

Structurally the space has been opened up using large Crittall windows, doors and roof lanterns, and removing windowsills and replacing them with French doors into the gardens.

All the bespoke cabinetry was hand-painted in a deep navy blue to make it dramatic, not only in the daytime but also on an evening when the statement pendants came to life, complementing the symmetrical kitchen with their organic shapes.

The very best hardware was selected which includes cooking and cooling appliances by Sub-Zero & Wolf.

The large island, with chunky worktops and a waterfall edge to the floor, makes the kitchen a perfect social space for both everyday use and entertaining.

Just off the kitchen is the pantry, a space the client wanted to be open and organised. It sits behind a glass door allowing it not only to be seen in the daytime, but also in the evening when integral lighting illuminates the shelves.

Thoughtful touches such as the bespoke carving on the Larder cabinet ‘treat drawers’ add a personal stamp to the kitchen.
