Parallel to the world renowned ‘Salone del Mobile’ fair, SieMatic hosted kitchen specialists, friends and journalists alike at their flagship showroom in Porta Nuova, central Milan.
Attendees were wined, dined, and introduced to SieMatic’s newest and most stylish ‘lifestyle’ yet: Mondial.
Mondial, deriving from French ‘Le Monde’ (the world), draws on international style as worldwide we see a trend toward mixing contrasting styles with expressive characteristics.
The interplay of material, form and colour help define a kitchen style that is elegant yet understated and which blends with the surrounding architecture.
Combining the simplicity of geometric forms (such as the circular veneer table and matching support leg) with the opulence of expressive, tactile materials (striking stone tops and lively veneer doors) Mondial presents a new and evolved definition of luxury. This gives the discerning customer an opportunity to express themselves with the greatest possible degree of individuality.
Although we couldn’t visit Milan this year, Sammy and I look forward to visiting SieMatic’s Löhne headquarters at the end of summer where we will have the opportunity to see and feel the range first-hand.
Here are some of the innovative design features I’m particularly excited to see:
Architecturally designed; the SHF door (available in three new veneer options) features a refined, angular structure and pairs perfectly with the sculptural geometric shape of the 307 (available in gold or dark anodized bronze finishes).
The resurgence for fluted glass shows no sign of slowing and provides an elegantly refined edition to the stunning glazed SLX cabinet options.
A playful juxtaposition of curves against the usually angular form of a SieMatic kitchen. This nod to rounded geometry introduces an elevated softness to the range whilst creating a seating area that is to be a talking point. Creating using a sandwich construction, the chunky countertop/table features a striking band of veneer edging and is available in all StoneDesign finishes.
Alongside Mondial, SieMatic are launching a number of exciting new door finishes in keeping with the sophisticated use of natural materials. Firstly, five new real-wood veneers that feature a lively vertical grain and warm tones. Supporting these are five new laminate wood effect doors (to replace the current range) and will feature a more realistic reproduction and depth of grain
The new door finishes and design elements will be in production from October, in the meantime you can explore the range in more detail via SieMatic’s new interactive dedicated webpage or sign up here if you would like to be contacted when we receive samples of the new finishes or if you would like to discuss a design.
