The heart of any good bespoke cabinet and furniture making company is the workshop and My Fathers Heart is no exception. Our Workshop Manager, Tim Birtles, is the man responsible for leading and managing our team of craftsmen, making sure things run smoothly and ensuring the accuracy and the quality of all our projects.
He joined My Fathers Heart over 20 years ago and is a highly respected member of the team.
I joined the company in October 1998. Over the years I have worked my way up to Workshop Manager and I now manage a team of 8 talented craftsmen.
I am responsible for the planning of upcoming projects, ordering materials, supervising ongoing projects and ensuring the quality control of finished jobs.
I love scuba diving and try and go diving as often as possible, whether that’s in the UK or warmer waters abroad. I also enjoy going motorcycling with my daughter.
I am proud of every single finished product we produce here so it’s hard to pick a favourite. A recent project I really enjoyed working on was a home cinema for a customer in Sheffield. We were commissioned to design and build an Art Deco style refreshment station and arcade machine for the ‘foyer’ of the cinema. We used beautiful materials and the finished result looked fantastic.
I would have to say it’s our skilled craftsmen who are truly passionate about what we do. We only use the highest quality materials and all our bespoke pieces of furniture are finished to an impeccable, unrivalled standard.
