Meet Samuel Ryan our Furniture Designer

As Head Furniture Designer at My Fathers Heart, Samuel is responsible for liaising with clients and bringing their visions of fitted and freestanding furniture to life. His scope of expertise ranges from handmade bedroom suites and bespoke studies to designer dining tables and statement chairs.

A creative at heart, Samuel is passionate about designing furniture that challenges the norms and offers clients a truly unique finished product.

Hi Sam, tell us about your time at My Fathers Heart

I joined at the start of 2018, as a Furniture Designer. Essentially, I design the fitted and freestanding furniture, which is handmade for bedrooms, studies and lounges mostly.

How would your colleagues describe you?

Hard-working and passionate, but also innovative given the nature of my work.

Why would you recommend My Fathers Heart?

We offer fresh and innovative designs, ensuring that they are finished to the highest standards. It’s a truly personal in-house experience from start to finish, which I think sets My Fathers Heart apart.

Do you have a favourite project?

Yes – the art deco gaumont home cinema. It was truly bespoke, so I had the freedom to follow my own creative direction, inspired by a ‘Fritz Lang’ stylisation of art deco. The opportunity to use exotic veneers and beautiful materials was great, and we created a fantastic end result.

Where would we find you on your days off?

I like to go walking in the Peaks quite a bit and eating out whenever I get the chance. Watching movies is probably how I spend most of my downtime, but I also play classical guitar, which is something to get stuck into over the weekends.
