Sammy is responsible for turning our customers’ vision into a reality – something she’s been passionate about from a young age.
I joined My Fathers Heart on 5th July 2021 as a Design Assistant. My role includes meeting clients by appointment, or walk-ins at the showroom, and introducing them to who we are and what we do. I take customers through our showroom displays, explain our processes, and try to get a good understanding of their brief and budget.
From there, I can produce detailed designs and present them to customers with a choice of appliances and finishes. I’m always on hand to liaise with clients throughout the design process and take care of any alterations which may arise. Once clients have signed off, I’ll stick around to oversee the installation and make sure everything goes to plan from a design perspective.
I’ve always wanted to do something creative. When I was little, I wanted to be a costume designer or interior designer. I then went on to study Interior Architecture & Design at Sheffield Hallam University, including a year-long placement helping to design bars, pubs & restaurants.
My Fathers Heart is my first job since graduating – so it’s all worked out pretty well!
When it comes to design, I love a challenge! At university, my final project was to design a bar that conformed with COVID-19 rules and slowed the transmission of the virus. I was over the moon when the finished project was submitted for an Interior Educators Award in the Interior Futures category!
At My Fathers Heart, I’m very excited to start designing SieMatic kitchens to suit the client’s wishes – not to mention seeing the finished design in person!
If it had to be whittled down to three, I’d go for busy, friendly and inquisitive.
When I’m not at work, I love meeting with friends and family, reading, and walking in the countryside. I also love to ski. I’ve been skiing since I was 8, so I’m always looking for my next chance to hit the slopes!
